Besides of giving the awards to the Ten Outstanding Chinese
Young Persons in the UK, the organizer BCYF will also raise
funds for the British Chinese Youth Development Fund, which will
donate part of fund for the Sichuan Earthquake Youth Development
Plan.
橡树，“铜枝铁干，象刀象剑也象戟，伟岸的身躯”，粗大解释，树冠茂盛，抗逆性强，耐干燥、高温和水湿，抗霜冻和城市环境污染，抗风性强，喜排水良好的土壤，但在粘重土壤中也能生长，它也象征着青年人的创业精神和蓬勃发展。在艾美酒店“橡树宫”举办这次慈善颁奖晚会，也希望参会人士和获奖个人/企业鹏程万里，一帆丰顺。
本次慈善颁奖晚会以“腾飞”为主题，除了为英国十大杰出华人青年以及优秀个人和优秀企业颁奖之外，并为英国华人青少年发展基金募集善款。英国华人青少年发展基金隶属英国华人青年联会，创办于2008年2月1日，致力于全面开展各项旅英华人和中国青少年福利事业，全方位为旅英华人和中国青少年健康成长、成才服务，充分实现旅英华人和中国青少年发展权，集公众筹款机构和民间基金于一体。
The objectives of the
selection are:
• to give formal recognition to the Chinese young people who
excel in professional endeavours and contribution to the British
community;
• promoting prominent roles played by the aspiring Chinese young
people in shaping a better future for British society; and
• to provide an incentive to all the promising Chinese young
people who seek further advancement in personal achievement as
well as in British public services.
“英国十大杰出华人青年评选”（大本钟奖）是首次面向全英的专门针对华人青年的评选活动，通过“大本钟奖”的评选，旨在：
表扬在工作上具卓越成就及对社会有贡献的青年；
树立不同领域、不同行业优秀青年的典型；在英国华人社会营造珍惜人才、爱护人才的良好氛围；激励更多青年勤奋工作、开拓创新、无私奉献；鼓励青年人积极参与英国社会服务，从而使他们为改善社会，担当更重要的责任；激励青年人在个人事业及英国社会服务方面更积极进取及为英国经济和社会发展做出更大贡献，进一步搭建中英两国的友谊之桥。
5月9日，在倫敦舉辦的大本鐘獎暨英國十大傑出華人青年評選慈善頒獎晚會的現場，活動組委會在頒獎的間歇，將拍賣（英國）海外中華流失文物保護基金（會）捐出的十至二十件明清瓷器在晚會現場進行競價拍賣，拍賣所得將全數捐獻給英國華人青年聯會和英國華人青少年發展基金的青少年發展專案。
（英國）海外流失中華文物保護基金（會）於2006年3月成立於英國倫敦，是海外第一個以保護流失文物和文化遺產為宗旨的非營利性民間組織。（英國）海外流失中華文物保護基金的宗旨是動員全球華人，聯合歐美日、東南亞等中國流失海外文物主要國家的社會力量，團結海外和中國尊重人類文化遺產、熱愛華夏文明的組織和個人，廣募資金，通過回贈、回購、討還等方式，多管道促成流失海外的國寶早日回歸祖國，同時，通過舉辦各種文物活動在英國和歐洲等地宣傳中國文化，促進中英、中歐的文化交流。

BAND MACE
In 2005, Rex Wong (guitar), Benny Yip (bass) and Erico Leung
(Drum) formed a Chinese Rock band at Imperial College London.
The formation of the band had been changing until Ruif Chen
(guitar/keyboard) joined in 2007 and the name MACE was taken in
early 2008. The band is actively performing live music among
pubs and universities in London and also engaged in various
charity events. The band was invited to participate in 'London
China Week' in 2007 and became the first Chinese band playing in
Victoria & Albert Museum. February 2009, the band entered the
Emergenza International Live Band Festival and won the 1st
runner-up in the first stage and through to the quarter finals,
also they were the only Chinese band out of the 100
participants.
The 15-Minute Opening Performance of Big Ben Award Charity
Ceremony will be:
1) Chinese rock song called Blues by Jam Hsiao.
2) Original by MACE called Angel. The song is about encouraging
more concern for youth growth and development.
3) She Will Be Loved by an American band Maroon 5.
2005年，就讀帝國學院（倫敦）大一的吉他手黃靖，低音吉他手葉澤銘和鼓手粱展頴組建了青年華人搖滾樂隊。經過多次的人員調整，吉他手陳瑞峰加入了樂隊，他們並在2008年初將樂隊取名為MACE。MACE活躍于倫敦各所大學，並積極參與校園的慈善活動。
2008年，MACE應邀參與‘倫敦中國周’，成為首支在VICTORIA & ALBERT
MUSEUM演出的中國樂隊。2009年二月，MACE參加EMERGENZA國際樂隊比賽，首輪以第二名晉級四分之一決賽，並是倫敦賽區百支參賽樂隊中唯一的中國樂隊。
在2009大本鐘獎暨英國十大傑出華人傑出青年評選慈善頒獎典禮的表演中，MACE樂隊表演的第一首是臺灣歌手蕭敬騰的《Blues》，這是一首充滿搖滾曲風的中文歌。第二首是原創曲《天使》，歌的寓意是希望更多的人來關心青年人的成長。第三首是美國樂隊Maroon
5的《She will be loved》，是一首英式抒情搖滾歌。时长共约15分钟。
  
  
CICI AND HER
DANCE GROUP
CICI是一个集唱歌、舞蹈、写谱、作词、音乐制作、编舞、电脑平面设计、录影剪辑、后期制作等合为一身的女孩。
CICI从小接受芭蕾舞训练及钢琴练习。她萌发写流行歌曲是启蒙于她热衷于聆听Michael Jackson音乐。自CICI学习Hiphop舞蹈起，她很快掌握其特性与技巧。她曾亦歌亦舞参加在2000年和2001年Trafalgar
Square举办的伦敦中国新年大型演出以及2004年新加坡国庆节大型表演。
读中小学时，CICI展示她另一面艺术技能，她的水墨画、丝绸画、板雕画、油画、素描作品等至今仍保留在她曾就读的学校Fulham
Girl School & William Morris。14岁起，从Yamaha
Keyboard到Triton系列，CICI开始自学并对音乐制作产生了浓厚的兴趣。她18岁进入大学深造，荣获毕业第一荣誉，她的毕业作品已列入Rose
Bruford College大学课程教材和学院手册介绍的一个栏目。
CICI创作灵感取之于广泛的音乐风格源泉，数年的舞台积累和音乐探索。她的第二篇音乐录影The Program (Addicted
To It)在2008年诞生，并被Virgin
Media列入议程。CICI在从事自己音乐创作同时，还和其他音乐家合作：其歌声曾被ITV & Channel
5做电视广告，作为The Tenorions巡演欧洲，得到西班牙电视台电台的竞相报道；英国Channel
4曾为她做现场采访和表演；CICI的POP 音乐被选送到Armani T形舞台展演；CICI曾与Westlife、Kylie
Minogue合作的著名音乐家Richard共同创作“政治与性感”；著名歌手Daniel Bedingfield曾把CICI音乐介绍给不同DJ；CICI还与葛莱美奖获得者：Bjork、Madonna音乐制作人，世界著名电影音乐导演Marius合作，用中国古筝弹奏电影音乐片段；CICI音乐专辑已在iTUNES，HMV

暨英國十大傑出華人傑出青年評選慈善頒獎典禮的表演中，Cici和她的舞蹈团队将表演：1）A
Little Girl，2）Let me be me （嘰裏呱啦）。共时长8分钟。
 Cici
is a Singer, Songwriter, Music Producer, Choreographer, Graphic
Designer and Video Director/Editor.
Cici was training at Ballet School and learning Classical Piano,
when at the age of 9 she discovered her ultimate idol, Michael
Jackson. It was at this point that she began writing her own pop
songs. At 14, Cici began studying hip-hop dance in order to
develop the necessary skills required of a modern artist. She
then began to perform her own work in various international
venues and festivals including London’s Trafalgar square and at
Singapore’s national day.
She was self-taught at Music Production until the age of 18. She
then decided to study for a Degree in Music Technology,
graduating with 1st class honors. During her final year she
directed, edited and choreographed a music video to her own song
‘…Ship’.
Cici is able to take influence from any of the music she enjoys
including R’n’B, Dance, Drum’n’Bass, Rock and Classical. This
quality allows her to be extremely versatile as a Writer,
Performer and Producer. But after many years of musical
experimentation and exploration, ‘The program – (addicted to
it)’ is truly an honest representation of who she is as an
artist.
Cici’s vocal was appeared on a TV commercial for ITV, Ch5, and
has toured Europe with The Tenorions, and was featured on The
Paul O Grady’s Show on Channel 4 and Live TV, radio shows in
Spain. Recently Cici has just finished producing music for the
Armani catwalk show, and was working with the BAFTA and Grammy
winner Marius’s on his latest project, which Cici is playing
GuZheng for. What’s more, Cici was approached by Virgin Media to
feature her MV ‘The Program (addicted to it)’ on virgin channel!

Si WANG and His
Magic
Si Wang (his English name is
Forrest) is the 2nd year undergraduate student doing the
Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College of
London (UCL). He has been doing magic for about 6 years and has
been performed his Close-up magic and Stage magic across the UK
in the past two years. Forrest is the member of The Magic Circle
which is premier magical society in the fascinating world of
magic and illusion. He is the member of the London Society of
Magicians as well. Forrest has been awarded the second price at
the London Close-up magic Competition in 2008 and the third
price at the London Card magic competition in 2008.
 王思是就读于伦敦大学学院（UCL）电子电机工程系大二的学生。有超过6年的魔术表演经验。现在是在世界上极富盛名，与好莱坞魔法城堡齐名的“英国魔术圈（The
Magic
Circle）”的蓝色会员，也是中国大陆地区的第一位，也是目前为止的唯一一位。同样也是英国伦敦魔术师协会会员。在过去的两年时间中，王思在英国各个城市的不同类型的晚会中担任魔术的表演嘉宾。曾经在2008年，伦敦纸牌魔术大赛取得第三名的成绩，和2008年伦敦近景魔术大赛第二名的成绩，同样也是第一位获得这项荣誉的中国人。

Marcus is a medical student in King's College, but he also quite
likes the piano. He stopped lessons at age 6, started again
himself at age 16, and have never looked back since. He also
believes that heaven will be a group consisting of Beethoven,
Michael Jackson, Jay Chou(possibly?) talking about music all day
long. Although of course, he hope that his music on the night
will prove equal to, if not even greater than, the music of a
crew like that. Do enjoy!!
