英国青年助残志愿者协会(The British Youth
Association of
Helping People with Disabilities)于2009年7月8日成立。英国青年助残志愿者协会的成立和发展获得了中国残疾人福利基金会的大力支持和指导。英国青年助残志愿者协会旨在加强开展残疾人事业的国际交流与合作
;弘扬人道主义,宣传残疾人事业,沟通政府、社会与残疾人之间的联系,动员社会理解、尊重、关心、帮助残疾人
;开展残疾人康复、教育、劳动就业、文化、体育、科研、福利、社会服务、为残疾预防工作创造良好的环境和条件,扶助残疾人平等参与社会生活;协助各大机构和政府研究、制定和实施残疾人事业的规划和计划,对有关业务领域进行指导和管理。英国青年助残志愿者协会首届的主要领导层由华人担任,将力求拓展中英两国残疾人事业的共同发展。英国青年助残志愿者协会是英国华人青年联会的地方会员单位。李俊辰任会长,王苗任首席副会长。

With more than 500 members from all walks
of life in Chinese community in the UK, British Chinese
Youth Federations (BCYF) is a charity and non-profit making
organization dedicated to developing leadership potentials
among young people. British Chinese Youth Federations (BCYF)
represents a network of highly-motivated and forward-looking
Chinese young people who come together to under a common
mission: " to contribute to the advancement of the British
and global community by providing the opportunity for
Chinese young people to develop the leadership skills,
social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship
necessary to create positive change".
Since its establishment, the British Chinese Youth
Federations (BCYF) has proactively responded to challenges
in the Chinese community in the UK, helping to generate
awareness on important social and economic issues which have
an impact on our daily lives. The organization's objectives
are carried out through the "Four Areas of Opportunity",
namely Individual; Community; International; and Business.
● Individual
Through various leadership training programs, members
develop valuable skills such as goal setting,
time-management, public speaking, parliamentary procedures,
protocol, etc., thereby equipping them with necessary
techniques to become future leaders of the community.
● Community
Through various community development programs, members
identify social needs and issues, and develop projects to
improve the well-being of the British community. Awareness
and sensitivity on community problems are thus enhanced.
● International
Through a network of 200000 with All World Chinese Youth
Federation around the world, members gain valuable
international exposure, develop international friendship,
and derive awareness on cross-border, cross-culture issues.
● Business
Members can pursue personal business interests through the
BCYF Business and Finance Chamber as well as worldwide
international networking activities. Each year, various
business seminars and contact sessions are organized by the
BCYF Business and Finance Chamber.
THE BIG BEN AWARD, including Personal
Award, Enterprise Award, and UK Ten Outstanding Chinese
Young Persons in the UK (TOCYP-UK) Selection, is organized
by the British Chinese Youth Federation (BCYF). The
objectives of the selection are:
● to give formal recognition to the Chinese young people who
excel in professional endeavours and contribution to the
British community;
● promoting prominent roles played by the aspiring Chinese
young people in shaping a better future for British society;
and
● to provide an incentive to all the promising Chinese young
people who seek further advancement in personal achievement
as well as in British public services.
